Young years

Sponsored by her father, Carissa Moore surfed her first wave when she was 4 years old. The connection with her father, the waves, and her hometown of Honolulu has always played an important role in her life and career. As can be seen from an interview, at the age of 9 she had a great desire to become a professional surfer. Due to the precision of balance and board holding, learned at an early age, she won 11 national surfing championships before she was thirteen and became the youngest female surfer featured on the cover of SURFER magazine at the age of just 16 . At 16, she was the youngest event winner (Hawaiian Pro) of the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing .

Still, it was always important to her that she graduated from the Punahou School - the same private high school that 44th US President Barack Obama and professional golfer Michelle Wie attended. She graduated in 2010 at Café Fresh along with other great surfing talents on the south coast of Oahu, Ezekiel Lau , Kelia and Isiah Moniz , Kaulana Apo and another 400 people. The senior year of high school is said to be the easiest and most leisurely one, but Moore was already doing the World Champion Chip Tour at that time and therefore traveled all over the world, which made her last year at the Punahou quite difficult. She was happy that she was able to do what she loves on the one hand and finish school with her friends on the other. To Moore's surprise, she got a Honda Jet Ski from Red Bull at graduation.

Professional surfer

In 2008 Moore started as a rookie in the ASP Tour and got involved with several victories at individual events, including the Reef Hawaiian Pro. In 2009 she was still considered an outsider, but still won the Gidget Pro at Sunset Beach in Pupukea and the Rip Curl Pro in Portugal .

In 2011 she became the first woman to surf the Men's Triple Crown of Surfing. In the same year she became world champion at the ASP World Tour. In 2012 she narrowly missed the world champion title, but was able to secure it a second time in 2013. In the Championship Tour 2015 she achieved her third world title. She secured her fourth world title in 2019.
