The Carl-Spitzweg-Gymnasium is a natural science , technology , language and music high school in Germering . It is a municipal sponsorship of the Fürstenfeldbruck district .

location

The high school is located in Unterpfaffenhofen , the western part of the city of Germering in Bavaria . Next door are the state secondary school Unterpfaffenhofen, the sports hall of the TSV / SCUG and the state technical college .

Naming

The grammar school was named after the German painter Franz Carl Spitzweg , who grew up in the village of Unterpfaffenhofen. The school is located in this district of Germering today.

The school offers several foreign languages:

The career information fair of Germeringer secondary schools is held annually in the Carl-Spitzweg-Gymnasium and the neighboring secondary school.

Application training and internship

The school offers eighth grade students to take part in Boys 'Day or Girls' Day . The aim of Boys' Day is to introduce young men to women's professions. The female occupation is defined as occupations in which the proportion of men is less than 30%. The aim of Girls' Day is to introduce young women to male professions.

Every year, the grammar school organizes a one-week internship for students in the ninth grade. The students have to choose the company themselves and also write an application. The pupils are exempt from lessons in the week before the carnival holidays and receive application training from the Fürstenfeldbruck district youth association in advance .

The student co-responsibility (SMV) is responsible for the interests of the students and organizes projects and events that are intended to promote interaction between the students. Every year the so-called “Nikolausaktion” takes place, during which it is possible for the schoolchildren to give away Fairtrade chocolate Nicholas to classmates of the CSG, the state secondary school or the Max-Born-Gymnasium .

Every year the school hosts a Christmas concert in the Don Bosco Church and a summer concert in the Germering town hall.

The school offers pupils in the fifth to twelfth grades the opportunity to take part in competitions such as the Kangaroo of Mathematics , the European-wide English competition The Big Challenge or the competition against smoking - “ Be Smart Don't Start ”. In the upper level, the computer science course regularly takes part in the Informatik-Biber .

School trips

For the fifth grade pupils, there is usually a one-week stay in the school camp at the beginning of the school year.

The tenth grades travel to Berlin for a week to further their political education.

Student exchange

For a few students in the tenth grade, an exchange to the USA or Chile takes place every two years.

Awards

In 2014 and 2017 the school was recognized as a "MINT-friendly school" by the Bavarian State Ministry . In addition, as of July 2015, it is part of the Germany-wide Association of Fairtrade Schools. It was also recognized as a school without racism - school with courage .
