Carl Georg Boppo (* 1840 in Hamburg ; † July 15, 1928 in Düsseldorf ) was a German genre and history painter from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

Boppo, son of the Hamburg portrait and history painter Louis George Boppo (1809–1868), enrolled in painting at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich on January 21, 1869 , where he became a student of the history painter Arthur von Ramberg . From 1886 at the latest he lived in Düsseldorf . There he was a member of the artists' association Malkasten . At times he also acted on its board. He was also a member of the Hamburg Artists' Association from 1832 . As a city ​​councilor of Düsseldorf, he sat on the committee for theater, orchestral and musical matters .
