Carl Guthrie

Carl Edward Guthrie (born October 15, 1905 in St. Louis , Missouri , † April 23, 1967 in Los Angeles ), often referred to as Carl E. Guthrie or Carl Guthrie, was an American cameraman .

Live and act

After working as a camera assistant and operator , Guthrie made his debut in the first half of the 1940s as head cameraman with short films by directors Jean Negulesco and B. Reeves Eason . His first feature film was the drama In Our Time , which he directed in 1944 under the direction of Vincent Sherman with Ida Lupino and Paul Henreid .

In a career spanning more than 30 years, Guthrie has worked on approximately 100 films and more than twenty television series. He worked with the directors Peter Godfrey , John Cromwell , Arthur Lubin , Joseph M. Newman , William Castle , John Sturges and Gordon Douglas .

Carl Guthrie died on April 23, 1967 in Los Angeles, California, and was buried there in Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Hollywood Hills).
