Carl Peter von Tresckow

Carl Peter von Tresckow (born November 25, 1742 in Moscow , † February 18, 1811 in Zinten ) was a Prussian major general and chief of infantry regiment No. 17 .

Life

origin

His parents were Lieutenant General Joachim Christian von Tresckow (1698–1762) and his wife Sophie Catharine Helene von Falkenberg (1716–1761).

Military career

In 1756 Treschow became a private corporal in Infantry Regiment No. 32 and took part in the battles of Prague and Kay during the Seven Years' War . He also fought in the battles of Wahlstatt, Domstadtl , Adelsbach, Leutmannsdorf and the sieges of Neisse and Schweidnitz . At that time he became ensign on November 3, 1757 and second lieutenant on March 20, 1758 in the infantry regiment "von Loen" No. S56 . After the war, the remnants of the regiment were transferred to Infantry Regiment No. 32. There Tresckow became Premier Lieutenant on December 20, 1763 . On February 28, 1770 staff captain and on October 3, 1770 captain and company commander . As such he took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/79 . On November 5, 1786, he became major with a patent on November 25, 1786.

On February 1, 1792 he was commander of the 1st Battalion and on January 10, 1794, Lieutenant Colonel . He then took part in the war in Poland . On January 20, 1795 he became the commander of the 2nd Battalion. On January 2, 1796, he became a colonel and on September 26, 1800, he became the commander of the 31st Infantry Regiment . On May 20, 1800, he was promoted to major general with a patent from June 7, 1801. On March 20, 1802, he became chief of Infantry Regiment No. 17. At a review on June 2, 1804, he received the order Pour le Mérite .

During the Fourth Coalition War he was part of the corps of the Duke of Württemberg. In the battle near Halle on October 17, 1806, he was captured and taken to Nancy . He did not return from captivity until 1808 and was placed on half pay. He died on February 18, 1811 in Zinten in East Prussia.

He was married twice. His first wife was Charlotte von Sydow . He then married on May 31, 1772 in Neisse Sophie Christiane von Diericke (* 1756; † December 29, 1806), the daughter of General Christian Friedrich von Diericke .
