Carl Philipp Kopp (born April 16, 1728 in Birstein ; † October 6, 1777 in Kassel ) was a German lawyer .

Carl Philipp Kopp was the son of the office director Johann Adam Kopp (1698–1748), who was Countess Isenburgischer Rat in Offenbach from 1724 , office director in Birstein from 1728 and Hessian office director in Marburg from 1736 , and Helene Maria née Vigelius (1700–1773 ), Daughter of Countess Isenburg Councilor Wilhelm Moritz Vigelius († 1728) in Birstein.

Carl Philipp Kopp married Christiane Amalie, born in Kassel , on April 28, 1758 (* 1735, † April 17, 1813 in Kassel), daughter of Wolrad Stirn, Hessian Privy Councilor in Kassel, and Margarete Christine, born in Schwiedering. The marriage produced 4 sons:

Life

After obtaining his legal doctorate from Johann Stephan Pütter at the University of Marburg in 1750 , he went to Vienna and Regensburg . In 1751 he was in Kassel Regierungsassessor later real and five-year Government . There he soon became assistant to the Prime Minister of Donop and accompanied von Donop from 1756–58 because of the French occupation to Braunschweig, Berlin, Magdeburg, etc. In December 1761 he was appointed senior appellate councilor and in 1772 director of the tax committee.

On May 14, 1774, he became the Privy Councilor and Director of the Higher Appeal Court, has also been the “Director” of the newly established Hessen-Kassel colonies since 1777, and from 1772–76 director of the trading company in Karlshafen.

In Marburg he belonged to the Masonic lodge to the three lions .
