Carlos Enrique Trinidad Gómez (born March 18, 1955 in Guatemala City , † May 9, 2018 in Quetzaltenango ) was a Guatemalan clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of San Marcos .

Life

Carlos Enrique Trinidad Gómez entered the interdiocesan seminary in the Archdiocese of Guatemala in 1978 and studied philosophy and theology at the Instituto Salesiano . On December 22, 1984, he received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Guatemala . From 1993 to 1995 he completed a postgraduate course in liturgical science in Barcelona. From 2003 to 2008 he was Regens of the seminary in the Archdiocese of Guatemala and from 2007 to 2008 pastor of Santa Rosa de Lima.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of San Marcos on November 4, 2014 . The Apostolic Nuncio in Guatemala, Archbishop Nicolas Thevenin , donated him episcopal consecration on January 31 of the following year. Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Los Altos Quetzaltenango-Totonicapán , Mario Alberto Molina Palma OAR , and his predecessor Álvaro Leonel Ramazzini Imeri , Bishop of Huehuetenango .
