Carmen Roth (born January 2, 1979 in Pirmasens ) is a German soccer coach and former soccer player who was last active for FC Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga .

Career

Player

Having come to football through her father, she was a member of the professional squad of TuS Niederkirchen from the 1997/98 season and made her debut in the Bundesliga on April 26, 1998 (18th matchday) in the 2-0 defeat in the home game against SC Klinge Seckach . She scored her first league goal (to 1-0) in the following season, on November 22, 1998 (11th matchday), in a 3-1 home win over SC Freiburg . In the last two games for the club, she converted one penalty each . With the descent to the Regionalliga Südwest , she left the club.

From March 11, 2001 to April 16, 2002, she played 20 times for league rivals SC 07 Bad Neuenahr , and after only one season she returned to Niederkirchen (now promoted to the Bundesliga), which she also won after only six goalless appearances (September 22, 2001) 2002 to June 15, 2003).

Her longest time at a club began when she switched to FC Bayern Munich; she played 97 league games from August 24, 2003 to May 9, 2010 and scored not only her only goal for Bayern , but also her only own goal with a penalty (on November 7, 2004, in the 1: 3 away win over FSV Frankfurt ) (on August 21, 2005 - 2nd matchday, in the 1: 8 defeat in the home game against 1. After her active football career, she started her first assistant coaching position at FFC Wacker Munich in July 2010 , which she held until December 2010. She then worked for the B-Juniors at FC Bayern Munich as an assistant trainer under Roswitha Bindl . 2014 she led the team as head coach for the championship . She repeated this success with her team in 2017 . After 10 years in various coaching positions in the junior division of FC Bayern Munich , Roth was introduced as Werder Bremen's head coach on June 26, 2017 . In February 2019, the club announced that Roth would end her engagement at the end of the season at her own request, in order to continue working full-time at a Munich insurance company.
