Carsten Roth

Carsten Roth (* 1958 in Hamburg ) is a German architect and professor at the Institute for Industrial Building and Structural Design (IIKE) at the Technical University of Braunschweig .

Life

Roth studied at the Technical University of Braunschweig, the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna with Gustav Peichl and in the USA at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg and Alexandria, here with a focus on "Daylighting in Architectural Space".

After his return, he founded his own architectural office in Hamburg-Rotherbaum in 1987.

From 1998 to 1999, Roth was visiting professor at the University of Kassel in the field of design and building construction.

In 2002 he was awarded the Critics' Prize of the Association of German Critics. V. awarded in the field of architecture. Carsten Roth is a member of the Free Academy of Arts in Hamburg in the architecture section.

Since September 2003 he has been a university professor at the Institute for Industrial Building and Structural Design at the Technical University of Braunschweig. From 2011 to 2013 he was chairman of the advisory board for urban design of the city of Linz in Austria, and from 2012 to 2014 a permanent member of the design advisory board of the city of Bremerhaven .
