Casey was a post-hardcore band from South Wales , United Kingdom , formed in 2014 .
history
Casey was founded in South Wales in 2014 by singer Tom Weaver and guitarist Liam Torrance under the name Well Wisher, after both of them left their previous groups, Continents and Hot Damn. Originally the band was planned as a pure studio project, but three more musicians were recruited with the second guitarist Toby Evans, bassist Scott Edwards and drummer Max Nicolai.
The band remained silent for a while when Tom Weaver applied for the post of new front vocalist for the Australian metalcore band Northlane . Ultimately, Weaver did not become a singer with Northlane, so the band could restart under their current name, Casey . The band name change came about through Weaver's favorite album Casey by The Rise of Science and the late Hawthorne Heights guitarist Casey Calvert.
In March the group went on a European tour with Burning Down Alaska and Acres . After this tour Edwards left the band and was replaced by Adam Smith on bass guitar. In the same year the debut album Love is Not Enough was released via Hassle Records . In April, the group played more concerts in Europe, including several appearances on the Impericon festivals , with occasional appearances as the opening act of Thy Art Is Murder , Being as an Ocean and Miss May I have been played. In August the group played at the Download Festival .
On March 16, 2018, the second studio album Where I Go When I Am Sleeping , which was produced by Brad Woods , who already worked with Touché Amoré and the Smashing Pumpkins , was released again via Hassle Records.
On December 1, 2018, the band announced their breakup on Facebook after a European tour in early 2019.

Singer Tom Weaver has lived with glass bones since he was born . He was diagnosed with chronic colon inflammation at the age of 15 and manic depression at 20 . He has also suffered a heart attack and a stroke . Weaver lyrically deals with these illnesses and a surviving traffic accident on his second album Where I Go When I Am Sleeping .
