Casima is a village in the Mendrisio district , in the Mendrisio district of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland . From 1805 to 2004 Casima was a separate political municipality .

geography

The village is at 620 m. ü. M. on the slope of Monte Generoso in the Muggio Valley .

history

The village was first mentioned in 1507 under the then name Casima . In the Middle Ages the village was a fraction of the municipality of Cabbio , in 1805 it became an independent municipality.

Community merger

Since April 4, 2004 the village belongs to the municipality of Castel San Pietro TI .
