The Cecina (accented on the "e") is an Italian river in Tuscany .

It rises at 812 m altitude near Gerfalco , a district of Montieri in the province of Grosseto , runs through the Colline Metallifere and flows into the Tyrrhenian Sea near the city of Cecina ( province of Livorno ) . He passes through the provinces of Grosseto (Montieri), Siena ( Casole d'Elsa and Radicondoli ), Pisa ( Castelnuovo di Val di Cecina , Guardistallo , Montecatini Val di Cecina , Montescudaio , Pomarance , Riparbella and Volterra ) and Livorno (Cecina). The river is about 78 km long. On its upper reaches it is one of the cleanest rivers in Italy.
