Celtic tiger

Celtic Tiger is an Irish dance show directed by Michael Flatley , who also developed the choreography and produced the show himself. The music is by Ronan Hardiman. The world premiere took place on July 9, 2005 in the Népstadion in Budapest . This was also the start of the show in Europe .

Celtic stands for the Celtic people. Tiger symbolizes the awakening of the spirit of these people in the struggle for freedom.

The first act is mainly about Irish history, which is underlined by video recordings. The act ends with the first appearance of Ireland as a nation state. The second act deals with modern Ireland and describes the Irish way of life in America and the rest of the world.

  8. These Colors Don't Run - Irish culture is an asset to the rest of the world
  9. Yankee Doodle Dandy - Patriotism as a feeling free from ideology
  10. Celtic Fire II - Traditional music partly in a new style (a la Jimi Hendrix)

According to official information, another show in Prague had to be canceled due to technical problems. The European organizer is said to have been to blame for this.

The show lasts 107 minutes. The stage will cost 18 million dollars , making it the most expensive set ever. So far this world record has been held by the set of the musical The Lion King .
