The French wine-growing center Center Vinicole - Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte (CV-CNF) is an association of champagne producers to which a total of 83 wine cooperatives with more than 5000 winemakers belong.

The center is in the municipality of Chouilly , in the direction of Pierry, above the town of Épernay .

history

The CV-CNF Viticulture Center was founded in 1972 on the initiative of Henri Macquart to offer new storage and vinification options.

During the great wine harvest of 1970, storage capacities within Champagne became scarce. At that time, Henri Macquart was President of the Federation of Winegrowers' Cooperatives of Champagne (Fédération des Coopératives Champenoises) .

The center is in the middle of Champagne , between the Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs, above the Marne Valley between Épernay and Châlons-en-Champagne , on the route to the Coteaux du Sézannais and the river Aube .

At the same time as this was founded, Nicolas Feuillatte began producing champagne. Nicolas Feuillatte comes from a large trading family. His father managed several companies, one of which was "Vernhes", a company specializing in drinks distribution for hotels, restaurants and cafés in the Paris region. In the 1960s, he and his brother bought a 12 hectare winery near Bouleuse , near Reims . After the restructuring and replanting, the winery was named Saint-Nicholas.

Initially, the grapes were sold to the big traditional brands, and in 1976 the production of own cuvées began . In 1986 Nicolas Feuillatte sold his company to the Center Vinicole de la Champagne (CVC). Since that time, the Center Vinicole de la Champagne has not only owned the brand, but also takes care of its production, marketing and sales. From the 1970s to 1990 sales developed well. Shipments rose from 500,000 bottles in 1986 to 1,200,000 bottles in 1989.

Since the 1995 vintage , single-site champagnes from the “Le Mesnil”, “Cramant”, “Chouilly” and “Verzy” sites have been grown and marketed separately.

Nicolas Feuillatte was the third largest brand in Champagne in 2015 and the seventh largest exporter of the appellation with a sales volume of 8,300,000 bottles, 43% of which are exported.
