Cezarzama (also: Cezarsama ) is a village in the Cochabamba department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Cezarzama is the second largest town in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Chimoré in the province of Carrasco . The village is located at an altitude of 243  m on the right bank of the Río Icerzama , four kilometers from its confluence with the Río Chimoré , a tributary of the Río Ichilo .

Cezarzama is located in the Bolivian lowlands on the northeastern edge of the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Oriental .

The mean average temperature of the region is 27 ° C (see climate diagram Villa Tunari) and fluctuates only slightly between 23 ° C in June and July and almost 29 ° C from November to February. The climate is humid all year round , the annual precipitation is about 2,300 mm. The maximum precipitation is in the summer months of December and January with over 300 mm, less humid are the winter months from June to September with 60 to 100 mm of precipitation.

Transport network

To the southwest of Cezarzama at a distance of 201 kilometers by road is Cochabamba , the capital of the department.

By Cezarzama the 1,657 km long leads highway Ruta 4 , the far west of the Chilean border at Tambo Quemado starts and across the Altiplano and Cochabamba to Villa Tunari leads at the foot of the Cordillera. From Villa Tunari it is 22 kilometers to the neighboring town of Shinahota and another ten kilometers to Chimoré . The Ruta 4 then leads over Cezarzama and Mariposas further to the lowland city of Santa Cruz and finally ends in the southeastern part of the country on the border with Brazil in the city of Puerto Quijarro .

Due to the historical population distribution, the region has a high proportion of Quechua population, in the municipality of Chimoré 70.4 percent of the population speak the Quechua language.
