Châtillon is a commune Déléguée in the French commune of Valence-en-Poitou with 232 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Arrondissement Montmorillon , in the department of Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ). The inhabitants are called Châtillonnais .

On January 1, 2019, the municipality of Châtillon was merged with four others to form the Commune nouvelle Valence-en-Poitou. The municipality of Châtillon was part of the canton of Lusignan (until 2015: canton of Couhé ).

geography

Châtillon is located about 31 kilometers south-southwest of Poitiers on the River Dive . Châtillon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Payré in the north, Ceaux-en-Couhé in the east, Couhé in the south and Rome in the west.

The National Route 10 runs through the municipality .
