Champ-sur-Layon is a village and a commune Déléguée in the French community Bellevigne-en-Layon with 950 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . The inhabitants are called Champenais .
With effect from January 1, 2016, the communes of Champ-sur-Layon , Faveraye-Mâchelles , Faye-d'Anjou , Rablay-sur-Layon and Thouarcé were merged into a commune nouvelle called Bellevigne-en-Layon. The commune of Champ-sur-Layon belonged to the Arrondissement of Angers and the canton of Chemillé-Melay (until 2015: canton of Thouarcé ).
