Changunarayan ( Nepali चाँगुनारायण ) is a city ( municipality ) in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal and belongs to the Kathmandu metropolitan area .
The city is located in the north of the district Bhaktapur , bordered to the south by the district capital Bhaktapur . It was created at the end of December 2014 through the merger of the Village Development Committees (VDCs) Changunarayan , Chhaling , Duwakot and Jhaukhel . The urban area covers 27.9 km².
Residents
At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Changunarayan had 32,522 residents (16,065 of whom were male) in 7234 households.
