Anantalingeshwar ( Nepali अनन्तलिङ्गेश्वर ) is a city ( municipality ) in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal and belongs to the Kathmandu metropolitan area .

The city is located in the southwest of Bhaktapur District in Province No. 3 and borders Madhyapur Thimi in the north . It was created at the end of December 2014 through the merger of the Village Development Committees (VDCs) Balkot , Dadhikot , Gundu and Sirutar . The urban area covers 18.1 km².

Residents

At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Anantalingeshwar had 37,989 inhabitants (18,878 of them male) in 8977 households.
