Chantal Kreviazuk (born May 18, 1973 in Winnipeg , Manitoba ) is a Canadian rock and pop musician and singer-songwriter . She plays the piano .

Life

Her first album, Under These Rocks and Stones , was released in 1997 and garnered much praise from critics and music lovers. In 1998 she landed her first international hit with a cover version of John Denver's Leaving on a Jet Plane in the soundtrack of the blockbuster Armageddon . Her next big hit was In This Life in 2002 .

In December 1999 she married the singer Raine Maida of the Canadian alternative rock band Our Lady Peace . She is the mother of three sons.
