Chantecorps is a commune Déléguée in the French commune of Les Châteliers in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ). It has 318 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).
The municipality of Chantecorps merged with Coutières on January 1, 2019 to form the Commune nouvelle Les Châteliers. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality of Chantecorps belonged to the Arrondissement Parthenay and the canton La Gâtine (until 2015: canton Ménigoute )
geography
Chantecorps is located about 17 kilometers south-southeast of Parthenay and about 30 kilometers northeast of Niort in the Gâtine . The municipality of Chantecorps was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Vautebis in the north, Vausseroux in the north and northeast, Vasles in the northeast, Coutières in the east, Fomperron in the southeast, Exireuil in the south, Clavé in the west and Reffannes in the northwest.
