Charles-Edouard Calame
Charles-Edouard Calame (born November 7, 1815 in Lombard , Doubs , † March 9, 1852 in Môtiers ) was a Swiss painter , etcher , lithographer and draftsman .
Calame studied in Neuchâtel with Gabriel Lory the Younger and then went on a study trip to Italy . He continued his studies at the École des beaux-arts de Paris with Léon Cogniet .
He settled in Môtiers in 1840. From 1842 he exhibited his works in Neuchâtel. In 1844 he published 16 lithographs under the title Album du Val de Travers . He died at the age of 36.
