Charles Coleman Thompson (born April 11, 1961 in Louisville ) is an American clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Indianapolis .

Life

The Archbishop of Louisville , Thomas Cajetan Kelly OP , ordained him a priest on May 30, 1987 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Evansville on April 26, 2011 . The Archbishop of Louisville, Joseph Edward Kurtz , donated him episcopal ordination on June 29 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Daniel Mark Buechlein OSB , Archbishop of Indianapolis , Thomas Cajetan Kelly OP, Senior Archbishop of Louisville, and Gerald Andrew Gettelfinger , Senior Bishop of Evansville.

Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Indianapolis on June 13, 2017. The inauguration took place on July 28 of the same year.
