Chase Josey (born March 31, 1995 in Hailey , Idaho ) is an American snowboarder . He starts in the freestyle disciplines.

Career

Josey has been participating in FIS competitions and the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour since 2009 . He achieved his first podium finishes in the 2010/11 season at the Intermountain Series with second place on the halfpipe in Jackson Hole and third place in slopestyle in Park City . The following season he won second place in the halfpipe competition at the US Revolution Tour in Northstar-at-Tahoe and in Otsego . At the Snowboard Junior World Championships 2012 in Sierra Nevada he finished 30th in slopestyle and fourth on the halfpipe. In April 2012 he was third in the Slopestyle national championships in Copper Mountain . In January 2013, Copper Mountain started in the Snowboard World Cup for the first time and achieved eighth place in the halfpipe competition. That same month he was third in the half pipe competition on the US Revolution Tour in Northstar-at-Tahoe. At the 2015 Snowboard World Championships on Kreischberg , he took 15th place on the halfpipe. After finishing ninth at the World Cup in Cardrona at the beginning of the 2015/16 season, he finished second on the halfpipe at the US Grand Prix and World Cup in Mammoth in January 2016 . At the Winter X Games 2016 in Aspen , he came 11th on the superpipe . At the X-Games Oslo 2016 in Oslo , he won the bronze medal in the halfpipe competition. In March 2016, she won 32nd place in Big Air at the Snowboard World Championships in Yabuli and reached third place in the Halfpipe World Cup at the end of the season. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season he took third place in the halfpipe at the US Grand Prix and World Cup in Copper Mountain . In the further course of the season he won the Laax Open and World Cup at the same time and came fourth in the halfpipe at the Winter X Games 2017 . He was also third at the Burton US Open . He finished the season in ninth place in the Freestyle World Cup and in second place in the Halfpipe World Cup. The following year he won the US Grand Prix in Mammoth, finishing in the Winter X Games in 2018 to fourth place and at the Winter Olympics in 2018 in Pyeongchang sixth.

After finishing third at the World Cup in Copper Mountain and second at the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge at the beginning of the 2018/19 season, Josey again came fourth at the 2019 Winter X-Games and at the 2019 Snowboard World Championships in Park City the 14th place. At the end of the season he was eighth in the Halfpipe World Cup.
