Crazy Love (original title Chasing Destiny ) is an American comedy film directed by Tim Boxell from 2001 .

action

Debt collector Bobby Moritz is responsible for the case of the musician Jet James, among others. Jet James is dying in the hospital, his daughter Jessy, who works as a cook, visits him.

Moritz hides his identity and makes an appointment with Jessy. When Jessy realizes how critical her father's condition is, she asks the nurse Finnegan if an appointment is appropriate at this time. Finnegan says yes.

The doubting Jessy still doesn't want to open the front door for Bobby and pretends to be absent. When Bobby slides a poem under the front door, Jessy opens the door. You and Bobby spend a romantic evening together and then the night.

Jessy finds out the next morning that her lover is Bobby Moritz. He quit his job in the meantime, but she never wants to see him again and goes to the hospital again. At the same time a musician friend of Jet James brings Jet home. Jet speaks to Bobby and gives him his blessing. Bobby watches a film about the Woodstock Festival in which Jessy can be seen as a toddler.

In the end, Jessy Bobby forgives the deception.

Reviews

Ryan Cracknell criticized in the "Apollo Guide" that most roles were "terribly miscast", with particular mentioning Casper Van Dien and Christopher Lloyd. He only praised the portrayal of Lauren Graham. Cracknell also criticized the dialogues and described the film as "too familiar".
