Chicago Conversations is a jazz album by Peter A. Schmid that was recorded on August 31, 2014 at the Strober Recording Studio in Chicago. The recordings were released in 2015 on the Swiss music label Creative Works Records .

In February 2013, Father A. Schmid, Marc Stucki and Thomas Mejer performed at the Jazzwerkstatt Festival in Bern together with Keefe Jackson's band Likely So , in which Wacław Zimpel , Mars Williams and Dave Rempis were playing ( A Round Goal ). The following year Schmid met again with Keefe Jackson and musicians in his environment during a stay in Chicago; a number of titles were created in trio and duo constellations, including Michael Zerang (“Candlesticks”, “Zerosch” and “Trio”), Wacław Zimpel (“Clarinetrio” and “Twoclarinet”), Frank Rosaly (“Zerosch "And" Drum 'n' Bass "), Albert Wildeman (" Trio "and" Contrabasics "), Josh Berman and Nick Broste (" Windy City ") were involved.

Alberto Bazzurro wrote in the Italian edition of All About Jazz , "24 very small pieces make this very exciting work" by the 57-year-old Zurich multi-instrumentalist Peter A. Schmid, who recorded it in a single day, divided into five duets (one of his Specialties, as he had shown in encounters with countless partners such as Evan Parker , Ned Rothenberg and Vinny Golia ).
