Chipiriri is a town in the Cochabamba Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Chipiriri is the fourth largest town in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Villa Tunari in the province of Chapare . The village is located in the valley of the Río Chapare , four kilometers northwest of the river at an altitude of 263  m and only a few kilometers south of the TIPNIS National Park .

Chipiriri is located in the Bolivian lowlands on the northern edge of the Cordillera Oriental . The climate is tropical with a pronounced time of day climate .

The long-term average annual temperature is almost 27 ° C, the monthly temperatures are between a good 23 ° C in July and just under 29 ° C in December and January. The annual precipitation of 2,300 mm shows a clear rainy season from October to April, with monthly precipitation between 160 and 380 mm.

Chipiriri is located at a distance of 170 kilometers by road northeast of Cochabamba , the capital of the department.

Through the nearby Villa Tunari , the 1,657 km long leads highway Ruta 4 , which crosses the country from west to east. It leads from Tambo Quemado on the Chilean border via Cochabamba and Sacaba to Villa Tunari and on via Santa Cruz to Puerto Suárez on the Brazilian border. Two kilometers east of Villa Tunari, between the bridges over the Río Espiritu Santo and the Río Chapare , a country road branches off the main road in a northerly direction and reaches Chipiriri after seven kilometers.

Due to the historical population distribution, the region has a significant proportion of Quechua population, in the municipality of Villa Tunari 83.5 percent of the population speak the Quechua language.
