Clovis Beck

Chlodwig Beck (born November 29, 1924 in Karlsruhe ; † May 9, 2011 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German ENT doctor and university professor .

Life

A native of Baden Clovis Beck turned to the High School to study medicine at the Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Berlin to which he after seeing it at the Karl-Ferdinand University in Prague and at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg continued had, in 1950 with the doctorate to Dr. med. completed. In addition to his specialist training , Chlodwig Beck then took on an assistant position at the University Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic in Freiburg.

1958 habilitation Beck as a lecturer for the subject of Otorhinolaryngology, 1960, the appointment was made to senior physician , in 1965 professor, 1970 he was appointed as a full professor in the footsteps of Fritz tax collectors entrusted (1901-1986) with the management of hospital . Beck, who also held the Dean's Office of the Medical Faculty in the academic years 1971/72 and 1989/90 , retired in 1991 . In addition, he was a member of the German Society for Ear, Nose and Throat Medicine, Head and Neck Surgery , which he chaired between 1979 and 1980, and was made an honorary member in 1996.

Chlodwig Beck, who devoted himself to inner ear research at the beginning of his scientific career and who made well over 200 highly regarded and pioneering publications , was accepted into the exclusive scientific association Collegium Oto-Rhino-Laryngologicum Amicitiae Sacrum in 1974 in recognition of his services in his field Admitted as a corresponding member of the Austrian Oto-Laryngological Society and in 1976 also as a corresponding member of the Swiss Society for Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Neck and Facial Surgery (SGORL). In addition, he was recognized by the award of the Federal Cross of Merit and the Albert Schweitzer Medal.
