Chlum (German Klum ) is a district of the municipality Pšov in the Czech Republic . It lies four kilometers north of Manětín and belongs to the Okres Karlovy Vary .

geography

Chlum is located in the Tepler highlands on the northern slope of the Chlumská hora ridge ( Chlumberg , 650 m). To the north lies the Červený vrch (494 m) and to the east the Homolky ( Homolkaberg , 487 m).

Neighboring towns are Novosedly and Víska the north, Stvolny in the Northeast, Kotaneč and Hradek in the east, Brdo, Vuršův Mlyn and Manětín in the southeast, Újezd, Holubův Mlyn and Lešovice in the south, MEZI and Zhořec in the southwest, Luková and Domašín the west and Pšov in Northwest.

history

The first written mention of the village Novosedlky comes from the year 1115. In the 14th century the parish church of St. Egidius was built, which was downgraded to a branch church of Štědrá in the 16th century .

In 1850, the political community of Klum / Chlum was established in the Luditz district . In 1890 Modschiedl consisted of 60 houses and had 351 German-speaking residents. In 1930 the village had 295 inhabitants. After the Munich Agreement , Klum was added to the German Reich in 1938 and until 1945 the village belonged to the Luditz district . In 1939 Klum had 265 residents. After the end of the war, Chlum returned to Czechoslovakia and was classified in the Okres Toužim in 1949. On January 1, 1961, it was incorporated into Novosedly and at the same time assigned to Okres Karlovy Vary. In 1979, Chlum was incorporated into Pšov together with Novosedly . In 1991 there were 44 people in Chlum. In 2001 the village consisted of 24 houses and had 36 inhabitants.
