Chori Chori ( Hindi : चोरी चोरी, Urdu : چوری چوری) is a screwball comedy from 1956 and based on Frank Capra's film It Happened in One Night (1934). The main characters are Raj Kapoor and Nargis , one of the most popular screen couples that Bollywood gave birth to.

action

Kammo is the daughter of the multi-millionaire Seth Girdharilal. Since she is also his only daughter, Kammo is usually spoiled. Nevertheless, he locks her up in a ship's cabin. The reason: Kammo fell in love with the pilot Suman Kumar. Only the father believes that behind the love lies the real greed of the pilot to get hold of the family fortune.

Out of defiance, Kammo escapes and sets off on the journey to Bangalore , where Sumar lives. On the way she comes across the reporter Saagar, whom she doesn't like at all at first.

In the meantime, Kammo's father has staked 125,000 rupees on the capture of his daughter, so that Saagar has made every effort to protect her from people who are only after the finder's reward. The initially annoyed Saagar promises to bring Kammo safely to Bangalore. In return, he demands the rights to write about Kammo's life story.

They fall in love on their journey together. But shortly before the goal, Saagar leaves his companion and so Kammo returns to her parents' house disappointed. Happy to have returned, her father is preparing to marry her lover Suman. Well, on the day of the wedding, Saagar is also present and finally they both confess their love for each other.
