Chris Harris (born December 25, 1973 in Cincinnati , Ohio ) is an American wrestler . He performed primarily for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and became known as part of the successful tag team America's Most Wanted . In 1999 he married his longtime girlfriend Susan.

Career

Chris Harris was interested in wrestling as a child, but did not decide to pursue such a career until college. He was trained by Roger Ruffen, an employee of the Northern Wrestling Federation, and made his debut in November 1994. For five years, his appearances were limited to smaller independent leagues in Ohio , Kentucky and Indiana . Harris finally got to World Championship Wrestling through the well-known promoter Bert Prentice .

World Championship Wrestling

Harris played his first WCW match against Booker T in early 2000 while working for Prentice . It wasn't until October of that year that he signed a permanent development contract. His biggest appearance in the WCW was as Sting's doppelganger at Halloween Havoc 2000 ; otherwise Harris didn't get past the league's B shows . Before he could possibly make the breakthrough, the WCW was bought by the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) in 2001 and ceased operations.

Total non-stop action wrestling

In early 2002, Harris returned to work for Bert Prentice but found himself in financial difficulties. At a show organized by Prentice in Nashville , he competed against James Storm and impressed the talent scouts of the newly founded promotion Total NWA: TNA (now TNA, or TNAW) with his performance. Both wrestlers were initially given short contracts, but quickly developed into an important part of the league.

America's Most Wanted (Chris Harris, James Storm and Gail Kim ) in TNA

At the first NWA: TNA Pay-Per-View on June 19, 2002, Harris competed in the Gauntlet for the Gold for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship . A week later he formed a tag team for the first time with James Storm, which was named " America's Most Wanted " (AMW) after a suggestion by Storm . On September 18, AMW first won the NWA World Tag Team Championship by defeating AJ Styles and Jerry Lynn .

During an injury-related break of his partner, Chris Harris received a match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship against Jeff Jarrett in March 2004 , which he lost. In April, he earned another chance by beating Raven , but was knocked out by Raven before the match and replaced by eventual winner and new champion AJ Styles. On June 2, Harris took part in a "King of the Mountain" ladder match for the title and had to admit defeat to Jeff Jarrett (along with Raven, Ron Killings and reigning champion Styles). In the following years Harris appeared again mainly with AMW, but at the end of August James Storm injured himself again. At the last weekly PPV of the promotion on September 8th, 2004 Harris teamed with Elix Skipper against the Tag Team Champions Chase Stevens and Andy Douglas and secured the title for the fifth time. Of all people, James Storm and his partner Christopher Daniels took their belts off after two weeks.

On December 14, 2006, AMW faced the reigning Tag Team Champions Latin American Exchange ( Homicide and Hernandez ) in a Title vs. Team match . James Storm decided the fight by attacking Harris with a beer bottle, causing the defeat and the separation from AMW.

NWA cyberspace

Chris Harris regularly wrestles for the independent promotion NWA Shockwave (formerly NWA Cyberspace). On November 19, 2006, he briefly held the NWA Shockwave Heavyweight Championship after champion Jeff Jarrett volunteered to pin himself. Commissioner Jasmin St. Claire decided immediately after the match that both opponents would have to play in a three-way match against Chris Parks ("Abyss"). Abyss won the fight, ending Harris' reign that evening.

World Wrestling Entertainment

After Harris' contract with TNA expired, he signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment in late January 2008. In March he played a dark match and then trained at Florida Championship Wrestling, a WWE development league . On the ECW broadcast on July 8, 2008, Harris made his debut under the name Braden Walker and was thus temporarily listed on the ECW roster. On August 7th, however, Harris was released.

Current

Harris currently works for the Northern Wrestling Federation under the name "Wildcat" Chris Harris .
