Chris Stanley (born June 18, 1979 in Parry Sound , Ontario ) is a German - Canadian ice hockey player who has been active at the Rostock EC since 2019 . There he also acts as an assistant coach .

Career

Chris Stanley began his career in the Metropolitan Junior Hockey league with the Wellington Dukes . In 2009 he joined the Fischtown Pinguins , who played in the 2nd ice hockey Bundesliga , through various positions , where he stayed for three seasons. For the 2012/13 season he moved to the Red Devils Bad Nauheim in the major league. There Chris Stanley won the league championship in April 2013 as captain of his team. For the 2013/14 season he moved to the Löwen Frankfurt .

As a trainer

At the end of July 2014, it was announced that Chris Stanley had ended his long playing career. At the Löwen Frankfurt, however, he took on the role of assistant coach and thus supported his former teammate and Löwen coach Tim Kehler .

After two years as an assistant coach, he decided to actively play ice hockey again and joined the ERC Sonthofen in the Oberliga Süd . For the 2018/19 season he joined EV Lindau , which is also based in the Oberliga Süd , and acted there as a player -coach until he was released in November 2019, a month later he joined the Rostock Piranhas in the Oberliga Nord as an assistant coach .
