Christa Zöchling

Christa Zöchling (born February 28, 1959 in Graz ) is an Austrian journalist and publicist . She has been working for the news magazine profil since 1992 . In 1999 she published a biography about Jörg Haider .

life and work

Zöchling studied history and German in Graz and Vienna . She gave German courses for foreigners at the University of Vienna and worked on projects on contemporary history . In 1989 she came to AZ as a trainee shortly after it was sold by the SPÖ and taken over by Hans Schmid . After the AZ was discontinued at the end of October 1991, Zöchling worked briefly for the courier and was finally hired as the domestic affairs editor of profil in 1992 .

Zöchling focuses on Austrian domestic politics and repeatedly deals with the topic of right-wing populism . She has presented two standard works on Jörg Haider in book form and occasionally also writes for anthologies and other publications, such as Emma .
