Christian August Valentiner (Provost)

Christian August Valentiner (born January 3, 1724 in Sörup , † April 14, 1816 in Elmshorn ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran clergyman and provost of the County of Rantzau .

Life

Christian August Valentiner came from a family originally from Flensburg , which produced numerous Schleswig-Holstein pastors, doctors and lawyers in the 18th and 19th centuries. He was a son of the deacon (2nd pastor) in Sörup and later pastor of the Heiliggeistkirche in Flensburg Valentin Valentiner (1686–1729) and his wife Dorothea Sophia, née. Citizen. After attending the Schleswig Cathedral School from 1739 to Easter 1743, he studied, supported by the sons of Christian August von Rumohr (1690–1743) at Rundhof (his godfather?), The brothers Christian August von Rumohr (1721–1775) at Rundhof, Henning von Rumohr (1722–1804) on a stone wheel and Friedrich von Rumohr (1723–1765), Canon of Lübeck, Protestant theology at the universities of Rostock and 1746 Jena . Through his wife he was the maternal uncle of Johann Adrian Bolten .
