Christian Rose (born January 9, 1977 in Coburg ) is a former German handball player .

The 1.92 meter tall and 91 kg left-handed right back player began his career at TV 1848 Coburg, for whose youth and first men's team he played. He then moved to HG Erlangen . From 1999 he played in the 1st Bundesliga at SG Wallau / Massenheim . From there he was loaned to the Spanish club BM Ciudad Real for a month in May 2003 . In 2004 he switched to TUSEM Essen , with whom he won the EHF Cup in 2005. After the license withdrawal for the TUSEM he was under contract with the second division club Füchse Berlin during the 2005/2006 season . At the beginning of the 2006/2007 season, Rose went to Switzerland to join the Kadetten Schaffhausen . In October 2007 he moved to Grasshoppers Zurich after a long injury . For the 2008/2009 season he returned to his hometown of Coburg, to the second division club HSC 2000 Coburg there. In the 2011/2012 season Rose played for the OHV Aurich in the 3rd division , after which he ended his career for health reasons.

He made his debut for the German national team on May 7, 1999 in Hasselt against Belgium. He scored 142 goals in 69 international matches . He took part with the national team at the World Cup (WM) 2001 and the 2003 World Cup and the 2002 European Championship .

Rose is married and is a communications specialist. Until 2017 he was managing director of the economic sponsor of the professional handball players at OHV Aurich, the Ostfriesland Handball Sportmarketing GmbH .
