Christian Robert Santos Freire (born March 24, 1988 in Puerto Ordaz , Venezuela ) is a Venezuelan football player . He prefers to play as a left winger , but can also act as a right winger or center forward .

Club career

Santos began his career in the youth of the then German top division club SV Lippstadt 08 , before moving to Arminia Bielefeld's youth department at the age of fifteen . On the 30th matchday of the 2006/07 season , May 6, 2007, Santos came to his first appearance for the second team of Arminia Bielefeld. He was substituted on for Pascal Röber in the 81st minute of the game against Sportfreunde Lotte . Santos celebrated his greatest success with Arminia Bielefeld's second team in the 2009/10 season when he was promoted to the regional league with the team from the NRW League . That season he was Arminia's top scorer with sixteen goals from thirty-three games and thus had a large share in the rise. However, they did not manage to keep the class for the next 2010/11 season . During the summer break, he then accepted the offer from KAS Eupen and switched to the second division free of charge . There he became a regular player straight away and with 15 goals in 30 games the club's top goalscorer and fourth-best goalscorer in the league. In April 2013, the first division Waasland-Beveren announced the commitment of Santos for the 2013/14 season . He signed a two-year contract until the end of June 2015. On July 13, 2016, he signed a three-year contract with the Spanish first division club Deportivo Alavés . But in the summer of 2018 he moved on to Deportivo La Coruña .

Personal

Santos was born in Venezuela and came to Germany with his family at the age of six because his father had found a job there. Santos also has German grandparents.
