Víctor Mollejo Carpintero (born January 21, 2001 in Alcázar de San Juan ) is a Spanish football player who is currently under contract with the first division club Atlético Madrid . Because of his disease-related hair loss , he is known as pelado (bald head).

Mollejo grew up in La Villa de Don Fadrique , Toledo , where he started playing football at the age of five with the local amateur club CD Villa Don Fadrique . At eleven he moved to the youth team at Atlético Madrid . There he penetrated the B-team through various youth selections for the 2018/19 season . He made his professional debut in Segunda División B on August 26, 2018 (1st matchday) in a 1-1 draw against AD Unión Adarve . One month later, he scored for Atlético B for the first time in a 4-2 away win against CDA Navalcarnero .

On January 19, 2019 (20th matchday), Mollejo made his debut for the first team in LaLiga when he came on for Koke in the 3-0 away win against SD Huesca in the second half . In this 2018/19 season he played in four first-team league games, while he scored six goals in 30 appearances in the reserve team. He also played for the U19s in the 2018/19 UEFA Youth League and scored four times in six appearances.

On September 2, 2019, he moved to the second division club Deportivo La Coruña in a one-year loan deal . There he made his debut four days later (4th matchday) in the 0-1 home defeat against Albacete Balompié . Just two weeks later, he scored for Dépor for the first time in a 3-3 draw against CD Numancia . He played a total of 35 league games for Dépor in the 2019/20 season , in which he scored six goals and provided four assists. Nevertheless, he could not prevent the relegation of the former Spanish champions and returned to Atlético Madrid at the end of the season.

National team

With the Spanish U17 national team , Víctor Mollejo took part in the U17 European Championship 2018 in England , where he was used in three games.

He was appointed to the U19 squad for the 2019 European Under-19 Championship in Armenia . Spain won the tournament and Mollejo appeared in all five games in which he scored a goal.

Private

Mollejo has suffered from alopecia areata , pathological hair loss , since he was 9 years old . Since then, Mollejo has been bald and is therefore also known as pelado (bald head).
