Gaku Shibasaki ( Japanese 柴 崎 岳 , Shibasaki Gaku ; born May 28, 1992 in Noheji , Aomori Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

society

Shibasaki began in Noheji SSS's youth before earning his first professional contract with Aomori Yamada in 2009 . In 2011 he moved to the Kashima Antlers . In 2012 he was named J. League Best Young Player by the national league. Two years later he was part of the J. League Best XI . With the club, Shibasaki became Japanese champions in 2016 . Shortly afterwards, he and the team also won the Kaiser Cup . At the FIFA Club World Cup in 2016 , he finished second with the team and won the Bronze Ball. In January 2017, he joined the Spanish club CD Tenerife in the second Spanish league for free , but only played there for half a year. In the summer he moved to Getafe FC on a free transfer after they had been promoted to the highest Spanish league.

In July 2019 Shibasaki moved to Deportivo La Coruña .

National team

From 2007 to 2009 Shibasaki played eleven games for the U-17 national team . In 2014 he made his debut for the Japanese national soccer team . Shibasaki has played 13 international matches so far, scoring three goals.
