Christian Wittrock

Daniel Christian Warnke Wittrock (born November 2, 1882 in Kassel ; † November 15, 1967 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending primary school, Wittrock first completed an office apprenticeship. He later worked as an office manager and eventually became managing director of the United Guild Health Insurance Fund . After the National Socialists came to power, he was relieved of all offices. He then ran an inn until 1939. During the Second World War he was interned in the Sachsenhausen and Oranienburg concentration camps for almost six years .

After the end of the war, Wittrock was administrative director of the AOK Kassel from 1946 to 1956 .

politics

Wittrock joined the SPD in 1900 and was elected to the state executive committee of the SPD Hesse .

During the time of the Weimar Republic , Wittrock was from 1921 to 1933, with interruptions, a member of the Kassel Municipal Parliament and the Provincial Parliament of the Hesse-Nassau Province . He was also a member of the Prussian State Council from 1921 to 1924 .

Wittrock was from 1946 to 1956 council member of the city of Kassel and at the same time head of city council. In 1946 he was a member of the State Advisory Committee and the State Assembly of Greater Hesse that advised the constitution . He was a member of the Hessian state parliament from 1946 to 1954 and from February 7, 1958, when he replaced the resigned MP Heinrich Troeger , until 1958. From 1950 to 1954 he served as Vice President of the State Parliament.

Wittrock was a city councilor in Kassel before 1933, where he was in charge of the housing department. From 1956 to 1960 he was an honorary councilor for the city of Kassel.
