Christian von Ditfurth (actually Wolf-Christian von Ditfurth ; born March 14, 1953 in Würzburg ) is a German writer . He lives as a freelance author and editor in Berlin-Kreuzberg .

Life

He comes from the noble family Ditfurth . His father was the psychiatrist, journalist, television presenter and writer Hoimar von Ditfurth , his mother was the photographer Heilwig von Raven . His sister is the journalist and former Green politician Jutta von Ditfurth .

In 1972 he passed his Abitur at the Stormarn School in Ahrensburg . From 1973 to 1983 he was a member of the DKP and was temporarily trained at the branch of the Franz-Mehring-Institut in Berlin-Biesdorf in the GDR . In January 1998 he joined the SPD , of which he was a member for only two years. Since then, Ditfurth has been independent.

As a journalist, Ditfurth published articles in Spiegel magazine, among other things . After the publication of a number of non-fiction books , he has also appeared as an author of crime and alternative world novels since 1999 . His predilection for rock music from the 1970s left as much traces on his books as his local patriotism. In his first Kreuzberg novel, The Sleeping Beauty Project , all chapter headings are song titles from The Who . He is a member of Amnesty International .
