Christian von Plettenberg

Christian von Plettenberg (* March 2, 1612 ; † July 18, 1687 ) was canon , cathedral cantor , cathedral scholaster and assessor of the Landespfennigkammer in the duchy of Münster .

Life

Origin and family

Christian von Plettenberg grew up as the son of Christian von Plettenberg (1576-1646) and his wife Anna Vogt of Elspe to Bamenohl with his siblings Bernhard (1618-1679) and Ida (1603-1671, Abbess in Fröndenberg ) in the noble family of Plettenberg on . His brother Bernhard's children held ecclesiastical and secular offices:

Act

With the revolt to the families Plettenberg, Vogt and Schüngel , Christian came into the possession of the cathedral praisees in Münster on May 5, 1636 after the death of Canon Johann Philipp von Winkelhausen . After the death of Jobst Voerden on January 29, 1642, he received an option on the obedience Käsamt ( officium caseorum ). On May 12, 1666, he was appointed assessor of the cathedral winery and on August 3, 1658 , he was elected to the archdeaconate of Albersloh. The cathedral chapter agreed to the request and asked the bishop for confirmation. This meant taking over the cathedral choir . With the election to the cathedral scholaster on November 13, 1666, Plettenberg had to give up the office of cathedral cantor.
