Christoph Bieber

Christoph Bieber (* 1970 in Laubach ) is a German political scientist .

From 1990 to 1995 Bieber studied political science and German at the Justus Liebig University in Gießen and at the Free University of Berlin . In 1999 his dissertation on political projects was published on the Internet. Online communication and political public. Since then he has been a research assistant at the University of Giessen and since 2003 research assistant. In the 2007/2008 winter semester he represented the professorship for the Political System of the FRG / Comparative Political Science . Since May 2011 he has held the Welker Endowed Professorship for Ethics in Political Management and Society at the NRW School of Governance , University of Duisburg-Essen . In addition, he is a member of the Center for Media and Interactivity of the Justus Liebig University in Giessen, the editorial advisory board of the magazine Politik & Kommunikation and a founding board member of pol-di.net eV, the sponsor of Politik-digital .

Bieber's main research interests include the effects of the so-called new media and the Internet on democracy and political processes. In this context, he was present in the media when he appeared for ZDF election reporting ( election on the web , election watching 09 ) and in other media such as Wirtschaftswoche .

In July 2013, the non-party Bieber from the parliamentary group was Piratenpartei North Rhine-Westphalia in the Broadcasting Council of the WDR sent.
