Christoph Ehrenreich from the Trenck

Christoph Ehrenreich von der Trenck (born April 7, 1677 in Aken , † May 14, 1740 in Königsberg ) was a Prussian major general , knight of the order Pour le Mérite and governor and heir to Groß-Scharlack , Schackulack and Meicken. He is the founder of the Prussian line of those von der Trenck .

Life

origin

He was the son of the Brandenburg Rittmeister Christian Albrecht von der Treck († January 1708) and his wife Katharina, née Bronsart from the Garbeningken family (* 1638). His father was the master of Scharlack.

Military career

Trenck was employed in 1700 as a private corporal in the former dragoon regiment "Margrave Albrecht" . During the campaign against France in 1702/13 he took part in the battles at Oudenaarde and Malplaquet and rose to the rank of staff assistant master . In the further course of his military career Trenck was appointed commander of the regiment "von Waldow" on horseback on February 26, 1728 . On July 19, 1736, he was promoted to colonel .

Because of insubordination was sentenced Trenck on February 18, 1737 to 1½ years imprisonment. However, King Friedrich Wilhelm I released him from this sentence just a few days later. On August 2, 1739, Trenck was appointed major general due to health reasons .

family

Trenck married on February 3, 1724 in Königsberg with Maria Charlotte von Derschau from the house of Woningkeim (* July 12, 1707 in Königsberg; † December 25, 1753). She was the daughter of the court president Albrecht Friedrich von Derschau (1674–1743). The marriage produced four sons and two daughters, including:

  • Friedrich Wilhelm (1727–1794) ⚭ 1765 Maria Elisabeth Franziska Gabriele de Broe zu Diepenbendt (* March 28, 1740; † January 12, 1802)
  • Ludwig Ehrenreich (* 1728; † around 1783), Gut Meicken in East Prussia ⚭ 1751 Marie Karoline von Quoos (* August 30, 1732; † September 4, 1809)
  • Karl Albrecht (* 1730; † 1809) ⚭ 1756 Juliane von Taube (* 1735; † April 15, 1797)

After the death of her husband, Maria Charlotte von Derschau married Lieutenant Colonel Karl de l'Ostange , a son of General Count Charles de l'Ostange .
