Christoph Seils

Christoph Seils (* 1964 in Hamburg ) is a German journalist . He grew up in Stade and Lüneburg . After an apprenticeship as a carpenter , he studied political science at the Otto Suhr Institute of the Free University of Berlin . He wrote his diploma thesis on "mass media and right-wing extremism " . He works as a freelance author and journalist in Berlin on the subject of federal politics and parties. From 2010 to 2014 he was head of the online department at Cicero magazine , then political correspondent, and from September 2015 to June 2019 he was head of the Berlin Republic of Cicero. Before that, he worked as an editor for the Wochenpost and Die Woche , as well as for the Berliner Zeitung , the Frankfurter Rundschau , Zeit Online and tagesspiegel.de and as a freelance author. He has written for the Tageszeitung (taz) , the Badische Zeitung , the Nordkurier , the Sächsische Zeitung , the Tagesspiegel , Friday , the Parliament , Die Welt am Sonntag , the Weltwoche and Die Zeit , among others . He has also worked as a television writer for the television magazine Panorama . At the beginning of 2011, his book Party Twilight or: What comes after the people's parties?
