Christoph von Krosigk

Albrecht Christoph von Krosigk (born December 5, 1576 in Sandersleben (?); † September 2, 1638 in Dessau ) was a German court official.

Life

Christoph von Krosigk auf Sandersleben , Hohnsdorff , Beesedau and Gnelbs came from the Krosigk family . He was the son of Captain Adolf von Krosigk († 1605) and his wife Martha von Dachröden († 1604). His brothers were Adolf Wittich von Krosigk and Bernhard von Krosigk (1582–1620).

As a member of the Anhalt Chamber of Commerce , Christoph von Krosigk soon became court marshal . For some time he was also the official governor of Dessau and as such was appointed captain of an infantry company in the Anhalt State Defense Works in 1623 . In 1628 he was appointed sub-director of the Anhalt state parliament.

Around 1600 Christoph von Krosigk married Katharina Elisabeth von Peblis († January 14, 1653), a sister of Georg Hans von Peblis . He had twelve children with her: Johanna Elisabeth von Krosigk (⚭  Georg Aribert von Anhalt-Dessau ), Sophie Eleonore von Krosigk (⚭  Georg VIII. Riedesel zu Eisenbach ), Adolph Wilhelm von Krosigk , Heinrich Philibert von Krosigk , Dorothea Margarethe von Krosigk, Georg Aribert von Krosigk, Siegfried Hildebrandt von Krosigk, Anna Maria von Krosigk, Martha Juliana von Krosigk (⚭ Fritz von Kramm), Ursula Catharina von Krosigk, Susanna von Krosigk (⚭ Lohrens Adolph von Krosigk zu Alsleben ) and Amalia von Krosigk (⚭ Christoph von der Streithorst). Like him, his brother-in-law, his two eldest sons and son-in-law Georg Aribert von Anhalt-Dessau became members of the Fruitful Society .

Christoph von Krosigk co-founded the Fruit Bringing Society on August 24, 1617. Prince Ludwig I of Anhalt-Köthen gave him the company name “the well-being” and “in the good country” as the motto. As an emblem he was given "Six ears of barley, grown from one grain". Krosigk's entry can be found in the Koethen Society Register under number 7.

In the summer of 1638 Albrecht Christoph von Krosigk died in Dessau at the age of 62.
