Christos Yiannopoulos

Christos Yiannopoulos (born December 27, 1957 in Patras , Greece ) is a German-Greek screenwriter and author .

biography

Christos Yiannopoulos moved to Germany in 1964 as the son of Greek guest workers . He has been an orphan since 1970. In 1977 he graduated from high school. Yiannopoulos then studied German and pedagogy in Düsseldorf . At the age of 24 he wrote his first screenplay, Italian career , which was made into a film. Since 1992 he has mainly been a screenwriter for television. He currently lives in Düsseldorf .

His greatest success was Der Venusmörder (1996), which reached 7.86 million viewers when it was first broadcast on RTL . The film Weird Birds was nominated for the Adolf Grimme Prize in 1998 . Some of his films have been shown abroad.

In addition to scripts, he also writes books for children and adults. Together with Thomas Niermann , he wrote the two volumes of Ein Dschinn for all cases under the pseudonym Thomas Christos . His children's book Orbis Adventure was awarded the “Leipzig Reading Compass” in 2012 and recommended by the Reading Foundation . Some of his books have also been published abroad, such as Orbi's Adventure in Korea, Japan and Latvia, The Mindcracker in Spain, Pretty Best Paws in Japan, the Netherlands and Russia. Together with Sebastian Büttner, Yiannopoulos developed the Dr. developed, which was funded by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg.
