The Christ Church ( English Christ Church , Hebrew כנסיית המשיח) is an Anglican church in the old city of Jerusalem . It is located not far from the Jaffa Gate across from the Citadel of David .

In 1849, the Christ Church was opened as the first Protestant church in the Middle East. Until the inauguration of St. George's Cathedral in 1899, the Christ Church was the bishop's church of the Diocese of Jerusalem , which the Church of England and the Evangelical Church of the older Prussian provinces jointly maintained until 1886.

In the spring of 2018, the Christ Church Heritage Center is holding an exhibition in one of the outbuildings about William Hechler , the Protestant supporter of political Zionism .
