Chapel of the Condemnation Chapel

The condemnation Chapel in the Old City of Jerusalem on the Via Dolorosa was 1903 / 1904 by Wendelin Hinterkeuser on the walls of a Byzantine built church. It recalls the condemnation of Jesus by Pontius Pilate ( Jn 18.28–39  EU ; Mk 15.1–15  EU ; Lk 23.1–25  EU ; Mt 27.11–26  EU ). The Flagellation Chapel is located in the same courtyard as the Condemnation Chapel .

According to Christian tradition, Antonia Castle, destroyed in AD 70, has been the place of judgment since Byzantine times . The former royal palace on the west hill of Jerusalem, which has also been destroyed in the meantime, can also be considered as an actual location.
