Christy Opara-Thompson (born December 24, 1971 , according to other sources May 2, 1970 ) is a former Nigerian sprinter whose special courses were the 100 and 200-meter races .

Sporting successes

Opara-Thompson took part in two Summer Olympic Games ( 1992 and 1996 ).

Her greatest success was celebrated at the 1992 games in Barcelona in the 4 x 100 meter relay : she won the bronze medal together with Beatrice Utondu , Faith Idehen and Mary Onyali and only had to beat the US teams in 42.81 seconds (42.11 seconds) and the United Team (42.16 seconds).

In 1993 Opara-Thompson was African champion in the long jump and third over 100 m in Durban. At the Commonwealth Games in Victoria in 1994, she won the 4-by-100-meter relay, won the silver medal in the 100-meter run and was third in the long jump.
