Chromium (III) nitrate is a chromium salt of nitric acid . In addition to the anhydrous form, there is also chromium (III) nitrate nonahydrate (Cr (NO 3 ) 3  · 9 H 2 O).

properties

The crystalline anhydrous chromium (III) nitrate is slightly green crystals. The salt is easily soluble in water . It decomposes at 100 ° C. Chromium (III) nitrate nonahydrate has a red-violet color; at 36–37 ° C it gives off water of crystallization.

use

For the production of alkali metal-free catalysts and as a stain in cotton printing.
